Lot 1604 Marlin Model 57 .22 S/L/LR NVSN

This lever action rimfire rifle is chambered in .22 LR/L/S and manufactured in New Haven, CT., circa 1968. It features a blued finish on everything but the receiver (receiver is painted), a plain wood stock, 22" barrel, buckhorn sights, dovetailed scope rails integral to receiver top, full length magazine tube under barrel, curved serrated gold tone trigger, manual safety (also locks lever), no sling swivels (swivel stud in the stock is removed), black plastic grip cap with white spacer, and checkered buttplate with white spacer. Bore is dirty but has strong rifling. Black color on alloy receiver shows bare metal on edges, and also where blemished across the top at rear. Retains approximately 90% of its bluing, rust and patina showing on lever, and few scattered minor scratches or dings elsewhere. Bare metal bolt shows some light rust and patina. Stock is very good with very light handling marks. The action seems gummy, for many firearms from this group have had oil, or CLP dry on them during storage.
